President Ruto Continues Coast Land Reforms, Over 33,000 Title Deeds Already Issued

President William Ruto has begun a four-day tour of Kenya’s Coast region immediately after returning from an official trip to Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan, where he pushed for stronger economic ties and showcased Kenya’s affordable housing agenda on the global stage.
The President landed in Mombasa on Thursday morning and quickly shifted focus to local development, launching a packed itinerary that includes the issuance of title deeds, inspection of mega infrastructure projects, and political engagements across Mombasa, Lamu, Tana River and Kilifi counties.

His first stop was Mama Ngina Drive in Mombasa, where the President continued the government’s land ownership regularization programme by issuing title deeds to residents. State House says the initiative is aimed at resolving decades-long land disputes that have affected many Coast families, with President William Ruto having already overseen the issuance of more than 33,000 title deeds across the coastal region

Attention is also turning to Tana River County, where Ruto is expected to officially open the Kipini Fish Port a flagship blue economy project aimed at boosting fishing, trade, and employment opportunities along the Coast. In Garsen, he will preside over the launch of an Affordable Housing Programme, the area’s first Teachers Training College, and the Garsen Stadium project.
In Kilifi County, the President will break ground for the 12-kilometre Mjanaheri–Ngomeni Road, a project expected to improve access to schools, hospitals, tourism sites and fishing centres while opening up economic opportunities for local communities.

The visit will conclude on Sunday with a thanksgiving and prayer ceremony in honour of Youth Affairs Principal Secretary Fikirini Jacobs at Mnagoni School in Bamba, Kilifi County.
Ruto’s Coast tour comes at a politically significant moment, with the government intensifying development campaigns and seeking to consolidate support in the region ahead of a rapidly evolving national political landscape.
