FAFI, GARISSA – Former Fafi Member of Parliament Hon. Abdikarim Osman Rati has received a political boost after elders and community representatives from Reer Idle, within the larger Mohamed Kasim sub-clan, declared their support for his 2027 bid to reclaim the Fafi Constituency parliamentary seat.
Rati met with members of Reer Idle as he continues to mobilize grassroots support ahead of the 2027 General Election.

The former legislator expressed gratitude to the elders and community representatives for their decision to back his candidacy, describing the endorsement as a significant vote of confidence.
“I am deeply grateful to the elders and community representatives of Reer Idle, from the larger Mohamed Kasim sub-clan, for their resolve to support my 2027 candidacy to reclaim the Fafi Constituency seat.”
Rati said the endorsement carries a responsibility that he intends to honour through dedicated service to the people of Fafi.

“Your endorsement is more than a political gesture: it is a profound vote of confidence and a responsibility I hold with great humility. I honour your trust and pledge to repay it through dedicated service.”
He further called for unity and a renewed focus on the interests of Fafi Constituency as he seeks to make a return to Parliament.
“Together, we move forward. Fafi first,” Rati said.
The endorsement comes as political activity continues to gather pace in Fafi ahead of the 2027 General Election, with prospective candidates increasingly engaging elders, community representatives and grassroots supporters across the constituency.

Rati, who previously represented Fafi in Parliament, is seeking to reclaim the seat and return to the National Assembly in 2027.
