FAFI, Kenya – Fafi Constituency MP Hon. Salah Yakub on Sunday led a landmark dialogue session between the Samawahal and Rer Harun communities, aimed at easing political tensions and strengthening unity ahead of the highly contested 2027 General Election.

The meeting brought together elders and representatives from both communities in what organizers described as a spirit of brotherhood and reconciliation. It offered residents an open platform to air long-standing concerns and rebuild trust between the two groups.

Much of the discussion centered on political anxieties surrounding the Fafi Ward contest ahead of the 2027 polls. Participants agreed on the need for peaceful engagement, mutual respect, and putting the interests of ordinary residents above political rivalry.

The dialogue also tackled longstanding land and settlement disputes between the communities, with leaders calling for fairness, clarity, and lasting solutions to promote coexistence. Talks additionally explored the creation of new administrative units to improve service delivery and ensure every part of the constituency is fairly represented.

Development took center stage as attendees agreed that unity remains the single biggest driver of progress across Fafi Constituency.
Speaking after the meeting, MP Yakub said the engagement reflected his commitment to reconciliation: “Dialogue remains our strongest tool. Together, we are committed to building a peaceful, inclusive, and prosperous Fafi for all.”

Leaders from both communities pledged to continue consultations in the coming weeks, with land administration and development expected to remain high on the agenda as the constituency heads toward the 2027 General Election.
