    Stakeholders urge early compliance with Hajj requirements as awareness campaign begins for intending pilgrims.

    MOMBASA, Kenya – The Supreme Council of Kenya Muslims (SUPKEM), in collaboration with the Department of Immigration – Coast Regional Office, has launched preparations for the 2027/1448H Hajj season through a stakeholders’ media briefing aimed at enhancing public awareness and ensuring a smooth pilgrimage process.

    The briefing, held in Mombasa, brought together key stakeholders involved in Hajj and Umrah operations to discuss travel requirements, documentation, timelines and measures to protect intending pilgrims from fraudulent schemes.

    The meeting was led by SUPKEM Coast Regional Coordinator Sheikh Alhajj Khamis Mwaguzo and attended by officials from the Department of Immigration, representatives of the Pwani Association of Hajj and Umrah Agents, and licensed Hajj and Umrah operators.

    Participants discussed the importance of early preparation, timely processing of travel documents, and adherence to official Hajj procedures to ensure Kenyan pilgrims have a seamless journey to the Holy Lands.

    During the meeting, SUPKEM and the Immigration Department reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening coordination among all stakeholders, promoting transparency and improving service delivery ahead of the 2027/1448H Hajj season.

    The briefing marks the beginning of a broader awareness campaign that will continue in the lead-up to Hajj, with stakeholders encouraging intending pilgrims to seek accurate information and complete all travel requirements within the stipulated timelines.
