MANDERA – Mandera Governor Mohamed Adan Khalif has officially inaugurated the Dandu Sub-County Headquarters, marking a significant milestone in the county’s efforts to bring government services closer to residents and promote inclusive development.
Governor Khalif presided over the official opening ceremony in Dandu Town, where he was joined by Mandera Senator Capt. Ali Ibrahim Roba, the area Member of Parliament Hon. Adan Haji, Members of the County Assembly (MCAs), community elders and other local leaders.
The event marked the operationalization of the new administrative headquarters, which is expected to improve public service delivery and strengthen coordination between county and national government institutions.
Improving Access to Government Services
Speaking during the event, Governor Khalif said the establishment of the Dandu Sub-County Headquarters would significantly enhance access to essential government services while bringing administration closer to the people.
He noted that the new administrative unit will also play a critical role in improving security coordination and accelerating socio-economic development across the sub-county.
“The operationalization of the Dandu Sub-County Headquarters will significantly improve access to government services, enhance security and accelerate socio-economic development in the area,” the governor said.
Strengthening Intergovernmental Cooperation
Governor Khalif reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to working closely with national government agencies to ensure effective implementation of development programmes in the newly established sub-county.
He said the county government, through the Department of Devolved Units, will continue collaborating with national government institutions to improve service delivery and ensure residents benefit from both county and national government initiatives.
The governor emphasized that stronger intergovernmental cooperation remains key to delivering sustainable development and improving the livelihoods of local communities.

The opening of the Dandu Sub-County Headquarters is expected to enhance administrative efficiency, improve coordination of public services and support ongoing development initiatives in the region.
Residents are also expected to benefit from easier access to government offices, reduced travel time when seeking public services and improved coordination of security and development programmes.
