Public invited to submit views as Committee on Appointments prepares to conduct approval hearings on June 29.

Garissa, KENYA – The County Assembly of Garissa has announced that it will conduct vetting and approval hearings for nominees to the Garissa County Public Service Board as part of the process to determine their suitability for appointment.

In a public notice issued on Sunday, June 21, 2026, the Assembly stated that the Committee on Appointments will hold the approval hearings on Monday, June 29, 2026, at the County Assembly Chambers.

The shortlisted nominees are required to appear before the committee for scrutiny in accordance with the schedule set for the vetting exercise.

The Assembly has also invited members of the public to participate in the process by submitting memoranda, information or comments regarding the suitability of any of the nominees.

According to the notice, public submissions should be addressed to the Clerk of the County Assembly of Garissa and delivered within the stipulated deadline provided in the official communication.

The vetting process forms part of the Assembly’s constitutional oversight role in ensuring that appointments to key county institutions meet the required standards of integrity, competence and suitability.

The Garissa County Public Service Board plays a critical role in the management of human resources within the county government, including matters relating to recruitment, appointments and disciplinary processes for county public officers.
