Former Fafi MP Hon. Abdikarim Osman Rati receives a warm welcome from residents of Abaqdera and Gora settlements during his grassroots engagement tour in Fafi Constituency, where he commissioned a rehabilitated borehole and interacted with the community on development priorities.

FAFI, GARISSA COUNTY – Former Fafi Member of Parliament Hon. Abdikarim Osman Rati has commissioned the rehabilitation of Abaqdera borehole, restoring a critical water source for residents and livestock during a grassroots engagement tour across Abaqdera and Gora settlements.

The restored borehole, which had broken down and left the community facing water challenges, was rehabilitated following concerns raised by residents over the lack of a reliable water supply for households and their livestock.

Hon. Abdikarim Osman Rati, who is seeking to reclaim the Fafi parliamentary seat in the 2027 General Election, officially commissioned the facility during a day-long meet-the-people and development tour aimed at engaging residents on local priorities and his future political agenda.

Speaking during the event, Rati said the restoration of the borehole was part of his continued commitment to supporting community-based solutions and addressing challenges affecting residents at the grassroots level.

The former legislator used the tour to share his vision for the future of Fafi Constituency, while appealing for support in his bid to return to Parliament in the 2027 General Election.

Rati also called on residents of Fafi to support the re-election of President William Ruto in 2027, saying continuity in leadership would help sustain ongoing government development programmes, infrastructure projects, and service delivery initiatives benefiting communities across the country.

He said the continuation of the current administration’s agenda would provide an opportunity to consolidate gains made in development and ensure more projects reach local communities.

“I thank the residents of Abaqdera and Gora for their warm reception, hospitality, and continued support,” Rati said.

The former MP’s tour provided an opportunity to interact directly with residents, listen to their concerns, and highlight his priorities as he seeks another opportunity to represent Fafi Constituency in Parliament.

The engagement comes as political activities continue to gain momentum ahead of the 2027 General Election, with leaders and aspirants increasing grassroots consultations across constituencies.
